Casting: Deciding What Dancers To Use In Each Element

After getting the confirmation from both the department and the performers themselves about who we were going to have in our video, we then had to come to a decision as to what dancers we would use in each element. Although we were going to have all five dancers in the second element, we needed to choose who out of those five we also wanted to have in the first element. 

Alice is a very strong contemporary dancer so as dancers ourselves, Eden and I instantly knew that we wanted to reserver her for the second element and place her in the centre of the routine, leaving us to decide out of Zia, Hannah, Daisy and Chrissy for the second element. We knew that we would partner Zia and Hannah together and Daisy and Chrissy together due to hair colour and how they would look next to one another.

Daisy and Chrissy are very similar dancers whose strengths lie more within commercial jazz so Eden and I came to the decision to use them in the first element doing the choreography from the auditions as well as then joining the others in the second element.

The last step is to confirm with our teacher and Eddie that they agree with our decisions.
